Obituary

Mandile, Marilynn F. "Lynn" (Hart), of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2021 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of almost 60 years of Richard F. Mandile of Marshfield; loving mother of Richard J. Mandile "Rick" and his wife Carleen of Warwick, RI, Brian Mandile and his wife Jill of Marshfield, Kristen Mooney and her husband Timothy of E. Bridgewater, the late Karen Mandile Duross and her late husband Charles "Jamie" Duross; cherished grandmother of Mackenzie and Caleb, Alexandra "Ali", Margaret "Maggie" and Katherine, Charles James "CJ", Jack and Liam, and Carolyn, Coleman, and Ava; great grandmother of Nora; dear sister of Jack Hart and his wife Sally of Tampa, FL, and the late Ray Hart and his wife Jane of Virginia Beach, VA. Marilynn also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Born in Providence and raised in Cranston, RI, Lynn was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Dennin) Hart. Lynn was a graduate of RI College and Boston College where she met the love of her life (Richard) and earned degrees in education. Lynn was a faculty member of Furnace Brook Middle School and Marshfield High School for over 20 years where she made many lasting friendships and influenced the lives of thousands of young adults.

Lynn was very active in her "retirement" being a member of the Marshfield Womens League, Marshfield Senior Center and the St. Christine's community.

Lynn was also passionate about gardening. As a member of the SeaSide Gardeners of Marshfield she helped beautify traffic islands around town. For many years she could be found decorating the Daniel Webster Estate at Christmastime. Lynn and her husband Dick also took great pride in their home gardens and spent many many loving hours tending to them.

Lynn's priorities were family, friends and faith. She valued and nurtured her long term friendships with her high school and college classmates. Lynn always provided good food and appreciated good times and good friends.

Lynn loved to vacation and spend time relaxing on the shore, especially along the RI coast and in Florida. For over two decades Lynn relived part of her youth vacationing summers in Narragansett with the extended Mooney family. She loved telling stories of her teenage days as a lifeguard at Bonnet Shores as well as her love for the Hart family home on St. James Street. She loved spending time with the extended family going to the beach, the Big F Golf Tournament and attempting to play card games.

Lynn was the "2nd mom" to many of her children's friends and their friends bridging generations.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM to St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street in Marshfield, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Couch Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilynn's memory can be made to the Marshfield Senior Center, 230 Webster Street, Marshfield MA 02050.
