Ayre, Mark J., of Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away on October 28, 2016 at the age of 57. Mark is the beloved son of Gloria (Marino) Ayre of Marshfield and the late Arthur W. Ayre. Mark leaves his brothers Arthur Ayre and Paul Ayre, both of Plymouth, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and his dear friend Kevin Souza. Mark is predeceased by a brother, Darren Ayre.

Mark grew up in Marshfield and was a 1977 graduate of Marshfield High School. Mark worked for many years as deli manager for Stop and Shop Supermarkets at various locations until he was transferred and moved to Rhode Island in 1999. Mark enjoyed music, reading, gardening and collecting unique and rare gems from around the world, understanding the geology and all the facts about how they were formed. Mark was also a lover of all animals, especially primates. He often would feed wild animals such as squirrels, baby skunks, rabbits, and even geese right out of his hand around his yard.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean Street, Marshfield. Interment in Couch Cemetery will be at a later date.
