Mark D. MacDonald of Marshfield passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2025. He was 69. Mark was the husband of the late Susan (Sena) MacDonald and is survived by his loving sons Kris (and Hailey) of Lakeville and Michael of Marshfield, as well as his rescue dog Gala who could always be found by his side.
Born in Boston, Mark was predeceased by his parents Allen MacDonald and Jane (and Stanley) Hardy. He is also survived by his brothers Stuart (and Claudia) of Oregon, Philip of Plymouth, and James of Providence. He will be missed by his grand dog Smeagol and his many nieces, nephews and in-laws, as well as by those he welcomed into the family, especially Jake.
Mark was an Electrician by trade but could literally fix anything. 'Speedy MacGyver!' He would help anyone who asked – no matter where the job was and has probably left many friends with unfinished projects. A graduate of MHS '73 and The Franklin Institute of Technology, he worked for Electro Signal Lab (ESL), Trianco Heatmaker and Cullen Electric, before retiring in 2021.
Mark was a member of the Marshfield Yacht Club and the Marshfield Elks. He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and could be found on the waters of the North & South Rivers or visiting friends out on Saquish. He hated sports, but ironically was an avid skier. He was a Grateful Dead super-fan and could recite Monty Python quotes verbatim in true MacDonald fashion!
