Obituary

Mark Andrew Skowron of Marshfield passed away on December 14, 2018 at the age of 43. Mark was raised in Lincoln RI. He attended Mount St. Charles High School in Pawtucket and then attended Lemoyne College in Syracuse NY. On his "sabbatical" from college he fought and survived Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He went on to be an avid biker and completed several 100 mile bike rides. He spent his after college years working in the Human Resources field. He met his "Match" on match.com in 2004 and they were married a year later. Together Mark and Jenn enjoyed time on Nantucket which was always their "happy place". They enjoyed watching and attending games for the Boston Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics, winter snowshoeing and skiing trips to New Hampshire, kayaking in the warmer months and walks on the beach on their trips to Florida and the west coast as well as their hometown of Marshfield. After the birth of his daughter Grace he just beamed at being a father. They shared a very special bond. His son John brought him so much joy. He loved talking about his children and the love they both brought to him. As a family they enjoyed trips to Florida which always included amusement parks. They enjoyed fall trips to story land and winter trips to Santa's village. Mark enjoyed LEGO building with his children as well as playing Mario kart on wii. Marks transplant journey began a few years ago. He became known as "Markstrong" to all that knew him. He fought a valiant fight to get strong enough to be eligible for a heart double lung transplant which he received at Duke University Hospital on 5/29/17. He was forever grateful for the 2nd chance at life and for the organ donor that made that possible. After a long 18 month battle of complications and setbacks he left this earth peacefully with his family and friends by his side. He is now breathing easy and starting his eternal journey.

Mark is survived by his mother Stasia and sister Paula of Lincoln RI. He is predeceased by his father John Michael. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, daughter Grace Emily, and his son John Michael, his mother in law Donna Olson of Marshfield, father in law Kenneth Olson of Halifax, brother in law Paul Passero and his wife Cathy of Kingston, brother in law James Passero of Marshfield and his brother in law Lee Olson and his wife Mandy of Tampa, Florida, as well as many close friends and family.
