Obituary

Mary E. (Donohue) Barry, of Marshfield, MA formerly of Scituate passed away unexpectedly Tuesday January 12, 2021 at the age of 61. Daughter of the late Doris (Alyward) Donohue and the late John Donohue of Scituate.

Mary was born in Dorchester, MA and moved to Scituate, MA during her early childhood. She attended Scituate schools and graduated class of 1977. After high school she married James Barry of Cohasset, MA and had 2 daughters. In 1981 they moved down to Key Largo, FL where they built their dream home on the Gulf of Mexico. While living in the Keys she ran their construction company. Because of her generous hospitality and love of entertaining she quickly became a Key Largo social lite and made life long friends. Eventually Mary and her daughters moved up to Marshfield, MA where she became a realtor for Jack Conway. She enjoyed DIYing, decorating, boating on "The 804" and was an amazing cook. In 2000 she met Ronald Smith of Marshfield, MA, the love of her life and fiancé. Ronnie introduced her to antiquing that became a passion they shared.

Mary was an undying spirit whose soul will be felt in the wind and her love will live within all the lives she touched. She was the loving mother of Brooke (Barry) Levy and her husband Michael of Carver, Bridget (Barry) Haglund and her husband Jeffrey of Kingston; cherished "G-Ma" to Maddix, Hunter, Alexander and Juliana; devoted sister to John Donohue Jr of Longwood, FL, Kelly Donohue of Marshfield, and Mark Donohue of Jupiter, FL. Also survived by her Aunt-Godmother Noella Garrity and her late husband-Godfather Thomas of Quincy and Aunt Helen Gagnon and her husband Richard of Henderson, NV., along with many cousins.

The family will be having a private service. In lieu of flowers the family asks if you wish to make a donation in her memory to St. Jude, as Mary held this near and dear to her heart.
