Obituary

Mary Louise (Heuser) Clark, of Humarock, passed away on February 28, 2018 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Daniel W. Clark, Sr. and loving mother of Daniel W. Clark, Jr. of Randolph and Russell Clark and his wife Gina of Humarock, Mary leaves two grandchildren, Charles and Clayton, and a brother, William Heuser of New Hampshire.  She is predeceased by her parents, William and Louise M. (Russell) Heuser, and a brother, David.

Mary, or "Mike" as her family and those close knew her, graduated from Arlington High School in 1951 and was an avid tennis player and figure skater. After graduation, she worked for ten years with the Mass Transit Bus Authority, or MTBA.  Mike had summered in Humarock since early childhood and made the permanent move there in 1961, newly married to her husband, Daniel. Together they raised their family and built the family businesses, D.W. Clark Liquors and D.W. Clark Realty.

Mike was an active and beloved member of the community, being named Humarock Beach Improvement Association volunteer of the year in 2003, and was a member of the Scituate Historical Society. She was an avid walker who completed the Humarock 500 course twice daily.  Other hobbies included quilting, painting, reading, cooking, and collecting cup plates. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mike was also an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Scituate.

Beginning in 1987, Mike spent the winters in Englewood, Florida, where she was a member of the Englewood Historical Society and active member of the Good Shepherd Church of Venice, FL. She enjoyed collecting shells and shark teeth on Manisota Beach, and held a part-time position at Joanne Fabrics, both in Florida and Massachusetts stores as well. In later years, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Shriner's Burn Hospitals of Boston, by mail at 51 Blossom Street, Boston MA 02114 or by visiting the website https://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/boston
