Mary lived through World War II and married the late John B. (Jake) Connolly, Jr. of Hyde Park when he returned from serving in the Atlantic and Pacific with the U.S. Coast Guard. They moved to Marshfield, MA where they lived and raised their four children.
Mary is survived by her children, John (Jake) Connolly and his wife Donna of Quincy, MA, Dr. Nancy Connolly of Nashua, NH, Jeanne Connolly-Horrigan and her husband Richard of Williamsburg, VA, and Lee Connolly and his wife Margie of Sandwich, MA.
Later in life, Mary became known as "Grammy" a devoted and ever-ready babysitter to her cherished grandchildren: Frances Clark, Shannon Sullivan, Erin Connolly, Brendan Connolly, Elizabeth Connolly, and Maeve Connolly. Her legacy lives on with her great-grandchildren: Cameron Connolly-Stroop, and Sawyer and Caleb Sullivan.
Mary, lovingly known as Grammy, will be remembered with affection and is now at peace, reunited with the loved ones she held close in her heart.
Mary will be together with Jake at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. At the family's request, there will be a small, gravesite memorial service.
