Obituary

Pratt, Mary Louise (Cragin), of Marshfield, died at South Shore Hospital on Friday, February 29, 2008 at the age of 82 after a period of failing health. Born in Boston and raised in Beachmont. She lived the last 18 years in Marshfield near her daughter Donna L. Smith and granddaughter Jennifer D. Smith. She was the wife of the late Harry D. Pratt Jr. and devoted grandmother to the late Gregory D. Smith. Mary was the daughter to the late Mary L. Cragin Lobban and late Louis D. Cragin. Mary was retired from the division of Civil Service personnel administration in Boston where she worked for 26 years. She also worked as a corrections officer at Framingham state prison. She was a fashion model in her younger years working for Romans Department stores out of Boston, New York and Philadelphia. She was a finalist is the Ziegfield Follies. Mary was a widow for over 56 years and she had many wonderful memories with her short few years with her late husband, a jockey, Harry D. Pratt Jr. traveling across the country. She was an artist and volunteered at the craft shop at the Marshfield Fair for over 30 years. Mary was a member of the Marshfield Senior Citizens. Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Route 139, Marshfield Tuesday March 4, 2008 at 8:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 10 am at St. Christine's 1295 Main St. rte 3A Marshfield. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery, Marshfield In lieu of flowers donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center 1 Joslin Place, Boston Ma, 02215.
