Maria (Mary) del Pilar Piqueras DiMaria passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on October 9, 2024 at the age of 95. Mary was born in Yonkers, New York to the late Nicolas and Aurora Piqueras on February 5th, 1929. She was the beloved sister of the late Aurora (Carl) Immordino, Joseph (June) Piqueras, and Nicholas (Abbey) Piqueras. Mary went to school and became a secretary at Allied Chemical. While working at Allied Chemical, Mary met Theordore DiMaria, whom she married on May 14th, 1960, in Long Island City, New York. Mary became the proud mother of their two loving children, Laurie Ann Murray and Theodore DiMaria Jr. Mary raised her two children in Brooklyn, New York and Hoffman Estates, Illinois. She made every house a home. Mary believed in the power of education, and she inspired her children to pursue their educational dreams. She was so proud of Laurie who graduated as a medical doctor and Theodore who received his doctorate in philosophy. Faith and family were the central pillars of her life. While Mary faced many hardships, her perseverance and strength were unwavering. Mary's family extended across the globe, but she carried everyone in her heart and in her prayers. In addition to connecting with loved ones, Mary enjoyed seeing the latest films, singing and dancing around the kitchen, and being surrounded by friends and family. She had a way of bringing elegance and grace to every occasion, radiating beauty inside and out.

Left to cherish her love and memory are her children Laurie (Thomas) Murray of Duxbury, MA and Theordore DiMaria Jr. (Jeanette Garner Rice) of Spokane, WA; her granddaughters, Megan (Patrick Dietz), Kristen, Emily, and Jessica; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Family Church of Duxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, online at: https://www.stjude.org/
