Mary " Teia " (Lopes) Roderick, age 86, passed away on November 12, 2020 at Harbor House Senior Living in Hingham, MA with loved ones by her side.

Teia was born and raised in Midland, PA and was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School.  Although she did not have children of her own, Teia was a mother to many children.  She loved them as her own and the feeling was mutual. Her love for children, which continued throughout her entire life, was evident when she worked as a teacher's aide in the First Street School and Neel Elementary School.

During family visits to Massachusetts, she met her late husband Fred Roderick whom she married in 1960 and they lived in Marshfield.  Teia worked for many years at Foxboro Company in Bridgewater, MA.  After retiring she became a caregiver.

Teia enjoyed and played sports.  She also had a great love for the Pittsburgh Steelers and you can find her in front of the tv on Sundays waving her Steelers terrible towel.  Her favorite holiday was Halloween and she was more excited than the kids to hand out the specially made goodie bags.

In addition to her late husband Fred Roderick, she was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Lena Lopes, her sister Sally "Tootsie" Lopes, and brother Eloy Lopes.  She leaves to cherish her memory, nieces Kathryn Lopes, Liz "Sweetie" Tavares  (Bruce McCreight), Denise Tavares, great nieces, Cristina, Brittany, and Angelica Calderon, and nephew Joseph "Jocko" Tavares.  Along with the dynamic duo in her care sister-in-law Carolyn Roderick and niece Nadine Fernandes and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Marshfield, MA on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 8:30am-10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main Street in Marshfield, at 11:00am.
