It is with great sadness the family of Mary Jane (Gardner) McHugh, of Marshfield announce her passing on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the age of 80. Born on December 7, 1940 in Melrose, she spent her childhood in Cambridge and Duxbury. Mary raised her family and lived for many years in Marshfield before moving to Kingston in 2017. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends, loved music and was an avid reader.

Mary will be fondly remembered as the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Gardner. She was the loving mother of Mary Rapoza of Marshfield, Linda McGrath and her husband Steven of Duxbury, as well as her sons, Thomas McHugh of Marshfield and Kenneth McHugh and his wife Cynthia of Auburn, NH. Sister to beloved siblings Margaret Ryan of West Suffield, CT and Susan Williams of Kingston, MA. Doting "Grammy" to Steven, Tom, Maxwell, Noelle, Matthew, Sophia and Julia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield, MA 02050 on Sunday, July 25th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11AM on Monday, July 26 at St. Joseph's Church, 272 Main Street in Kingston, MA 02364, followed by interment in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury.
