Mary Patricia "Pat" (Flaherty) Benson passed away peacefully August 6, 2021 at the age of 84. She was born on March 24, 1937 in Dorchester and was the daughter of the late Frank and Frances Flaherty.

Loving mother of 6 children; Darlene Benson, Kathy Keough and her husband Steve, Joseph Benson and his wife Kim, Robert Benson and his wife Debbie, Karen Tougas and her husband Jay, Paul Benson and his wife Vicki. Pat also leaves her beloved sisters, Ellen Blaney, Michelle Mathews and her brother Paul Flaherty, and many nieces and nephews.

Pat loved the ocean and was an avid swimmer. She also enjoyed biking, walking and ice skating, but most of all, she loved spending time with her 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

After her retirement she was a volunteer at the Ventress Memorial Library and Meals on Wheels, Marshfield.

A Mass will be held on Monday August 16, 2021 at 12:30 PM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield, with a Celebration of Life to follow at Venus 2 Restaurant, 277 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
