Szumski, Mary P. of Scituate, formerly of Dorchester and Yarmouth Port, August 3, 2012 at the age of 94. Wife of the late Lubomir Szumski. Dear sister of Agnes Iwanow of Quincy and Helen Ptaszynski of Weymouth and the late Stanley Paxton, Benjamin Ptaszynski, Anthony Ptaszynski, Sophie Robak, Jean Dayton and Stella Harris. Also survived by 19 nieces and nephews, 28 great nieces and nephews and 15 great great nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Anthony and Sophie (Haidul) Ptaszynski. Mary worked as a secretary for Polaroid. She was famous for her warm smile and twinkle in her eye. Mary loved knitting and quilting. She was a member of the Quilter Club in Yarmouth. Visiting Hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139 Marshfield on Monday, August 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, August 7 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Christine's Church 1295 Main St. at 10:00 a.m. Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Interment in Ancient Cemetery in Yarmouth.
