Obituary

Mason, Mary V. "Ginny" (Fox) of Marshfield, passed away on September 30, 2015 at the age of 90. Devoted wife of the late Gregory F. Mason. Beloved mother of Laurel Mortell and her husband Edward of Marshfield, Elaine Adeboi and her husband Don of Lawrence, Rosemary Hauser of Florida, Victoria Wacome and her husband Todd of Andover, and Gregory Mason and his wife Gail of New Hampshire. Cherished Grandmother of Beth Johnson, Seth Adeboi, Jeffrey and Hannah Mason, Mason and Kendra Hauser, Gregory Drapeau, Caroline and John Wacome, Taylor and Madison Mortell and Great Grandchildren Felicity and Merrick Johnson, Abigail, Jack and Charlie Adeboi. Dear sister of Carolyn Donovan of Chelmsford.

No matter what the circumstances in life, Ginny always persevered. A devout Catholic, her devotion to her faith was surpassed only by her love and devotion to her family. She was widowed early in life and poured all of her time and energy into raising her family while working as a Secretary for the U.S. Air Force. Her children are forever grateful for the many life lessons learned from their amazing, resilient mother – how to cook, how to sew, and for her unending patience. Upon retiring to the Cape at age 65, Ginny became an avid golfer, scoring TWO holes-in-one in her relatively short career. Ginny was also a brilliant and competitive Scrabble player.

In her younger years Ginny was literally a bathing beauty, but her beauty and sweetness went well beyond skin deep, and everyone who met her knew it – Ginny made friends everywhere she went and in every stage of her life, right into her final days. She will be missed more than words can say, but we thank God for her love, her light, and for a long life well lived. Ginny will live forever in our hearts.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield.
