Mary E. "Marybeth" (Hughes) Rorke of Marshfield passed away on November 5, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 62. She was the beloved mother of Heather Hanafin and her husband Eric of Pembroke, Amanda McLaughlin and her husband Ricky of Marshfield, and Jimmy Rorke and his girlfriend Victoria of Marshfield, and loving Mimi of Mabel, Lila and Bridget Hanafin, Frankie, Alice and Connor McLaughlin, and Jack and Charlotte Rorke. Cherished daughter of Margaret (Johnson) and the late William H. Hughes, Jr., she was the dear sister of Diane Nagi and her husband Paul of Kingston, Tom Hughes and his wife Lauren of Marshfield, and the late William "Chipper" Hughes, III. Marybeth is also survived by James K. Rorke, Sr., and her nieces and nephews, whom she adored.

Marybeth was strong, creative, and loving. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, mother-in-law, Mimi, and aunt. A loyal friend, MB would show up for any of her friends that needed her. She was a talented photographer and lover of flowers and gardening. She took great pride in taking care of her beautiful yard, and it showed! She loved sailing, listening and dancing to classic rock, and cooking for her family and friends.
Marybeth was a dedicated Patriots fan. She insisted on watching the games in the screen house with her Brady jersey on, ringing the bell whenever they scored a touchdown. Marybeth was most proud of her three children and eight grandchildren. She created a home of comfort, love, and fun, where the door was always open for popsicles, a grilled cheese, or a nice cold drink. Marybeth will be dearly missed, and will hold a special place in the hearts of many people who are blessed to have known her.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
