Obituary

Maureen Kelley Buckley died peacefully at home on Sunday February 26, 2023 surrounded by her family. Maureen was born in Chelsea Massachusetts to Ruth and Wilfred Martin.  She was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, where she lived for over 20 years.

Maureen began her career working as a legal secretary, then went on to obtain a paralegal certificate from Bentley college. She finished her professional career as a paralegal for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections in Bridgewater. While living in Braintree she was active in local government, serving as a Chairman of the Braintree Finance Committee, and was an active member and eventual president of the local chapter of the League of Women voters, an organization which provided her with many close friendships.

In 1993 Maureen relocated to Marshfield to begin the next chapter of her life with her husband Robert Buckley. She embraced her new community and became active in her church, teaching Sunday school and eventually becoming a lector at St. Christine's Church.  She also loved reading and became a member of the Clift Rodgers Library, serving on the Board of Trustees and also, for a time, as Treasurer.

Maureen was predeceased by her husband of 29 years Robert F. Buckley, Jr.  She is survived by her three children Joseph Kelley, Jr. of Pembroke, Michelle (Kelley) Manners of Jacksonville Beach Florida and Manchester VT, Juliana McLaughlin of Scituate, 2 step-daughters, Kathleen (Buckley) Daniels of Norfolk, VA and Roberta (Buckley) Villani of Scituate, 10 Grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street in Marshfield.
