Obituary

Maureen F. Lyons (Glynn) of Humarock, formerly of Dedham, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on May 21, 2025, at home. She was the beloved daughter of the late Honorable Theodore Glynn and Geraldine (Landry) Glynn, sister of the late Theodore Glynn, the late Kevin Glynn, John Glynn and Geraldine (Glynn) Sheehan. She is survived by her devoted husband Kevin Lyons who she was married to for 57 years. Also survived by her son Kevin Lyons Jr. and wife Katie, Lisa MacDonald and husband John, Kerry Fogarty and partner Sara Bilodeau, and her son Timothy Lyons.

She was also a proud grandmother to Jacqueline Lyons, Kevin Lyons, Madeline Lyons, Colleen MacDonald, Daniel MacDonald, Theodore MacDonald, John Fogarty and Sarah Fogarty.

Maureen grew up in the Savin Hill neighborhood of Dorchester. She graduated from Fontbonne Academy and Boston College where she majored in Math and graduated with a BS in Education. After graduation from BC she then taught Mathematics at Canton High School.

Maureen spent her summers growing up in Humarock Beach where she had many friends and where she met her future husband, Kevin. On September 2, 1967, Kevin and Maureen were married in Humarock. Kevin was then deployed by the United States Air Force. They spent the next 4 and half years in St. Louis, MO where Kevin was born, Dover, DE where Lisa was born and Loredo, TX. After returning to Massachusetts, they moved to Dedham where Kerry and Timmy were born.

Maureen was a warm, kindhearted, loving person and everyone who met her felt those qualities instantly. She loved people and they knew it. While living in Dedham for 52 years and raising their children, Maureen and Kevin met many lifelong friends. She loved watching her children play sports at Dedham High School and beyond and was always seen with a smile on her face and a diet coke in her hand. Maureen was a town meeting member and belonged to St. Anne's Parish in Readville, MA. Maureen's faith was like no other and meant so much to her.

Maureen was employed by the Boston Globe in Classified, where she made some amazing friends and always blessed her family with a good "Globe Story". Maureen's priority in life was always her family and her faith. She loved to entertain and bring people together and was a great cook. Maureen always lived life to the fullest.

Maureen never complained, even as her health declined for the past few years. She was a true warrior who with determination and faith passed away peacefully at home with her family as she wanted.
