Melissa Jay Johnson (formerly Crosby), 49 of Marshfield died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, the 8th of April. She was born on August 17, 1973, in Weymouth, Massachusetts. After attending and graduating from Marshfield High School Melissa held various jobs before becoming a mother and a housewife. Melissa adventures in life took her to various places, however her love of the ocean always brought her back to Marshfield.
Melissa is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth "Lee" Johnson of Marshfield, and her five children: Kayleigh Crosby, Jessica Ploof, Patrick Ploof, PFC William Ploof, and Sean Ploof. She is also survived by her father, George Crosby, mother Kathleen Cassidy (her husband Richard), and her three sisters, Rebecca and Sara Crosby, and Faith Miller. She was preceded in death by her previous husband Harold "Billy" Ploof.
Melissa and Lee reconnected in 2010 and were married on November 6, 2015. Melissa was very proud of all her children. She will be remembered for her home cooked meals especially her meatloaf, headstrong spirit, being an avid fan of NASCAR and her love of music.
