Obituary

Michael "Mike" Anthony Campia, 65, of Hyde Park, MA passed away peacefully on January 15th, 2019 at his home. Beloved husband of Paula (Sprague) Campia; loving father of Jennifer Robitaille (Matthew) of Burlington, Michael A. Campia, Jr. (Hillary) of Marshfield, Rob Campia of Hyde Park, Angelena Campia of Hyde Park, Ryan Campia of Wareham, and Nicholas Campia of Quincy; cherished grandfather of Ava, Jake, and Max Robitaille, Michael, Rhys, Clara, and Hazel Campia, and one more Campia grandchild on the way; dear brother of Grace M. Campia of Hyde Park, Theodore A. Campia (Kim) of Hyde Park, and Daniel Campia (Susan) of Falmouth.

Born in Boston, he graduated from Boston Tech in 1971 and then became a Master Plumber. He married Paula Campia (Sprague) on September 29th 1985. He had his first daughter Jennifer in 1977 and then had 5 children with Paula. The most important thing in his life was his family.

Michael was employed with many companies and then started his own business M.A. Campia Plumbing and Heating. Mike was really proud of his 40 + year career. He was honored to be able to work with his sons over the years.

Mike always enjoyed old fashion cars and owned a few when he was younger. He didn't know how to relax but he loved to tell stories about job sites he worked at, or the best way to get somewhere (which was always the long way), or where to get the best sub. Mike liked taking drives in his work van and listening to talk and sports radio.

Growing up he spent many summer nights waterskiing and swimming with family and friends in Wareham. As his children were young they spent summers camping together at Salisbury Beach. When not working, he enjoyed cooking for the family but mostly going to the grocery store. Over the past few years he took pride in growing his own vegetables and trying to grow the biggest pumpkin. Mike was just one of the hardest workers and would do anything for anyone especially his family. He will be deeply missed.
