Michael A. Crowley, of Marshfield, passed away on June 24, 2018 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Diane (Bibbo) Crowley; loving father of Michael Crowley of Boston, Mark Crowley, HPD, and his wife Heidi of Hanover, and Marty Crowley of Orlando. Michael leaves his grandchildren Megan and Emily Crowley and a brother Larry Crowley of London, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved canine companion, Oliver. He is predeceased by siblings Elizabeth Cronin, Maisie Thompson, Patrick Crowley, and James Crowley.
So many things would bring a warm smile to Mike's face—particularly his family and friends. His life was grounded in a deep and constant joy, animated by his faith and guiding everything he did. A kind and gentle word welcomed and touched the hearts of everyone Mike met along the journey.
Born in Tallow, County Waterford, Ireland, Mike emigrated to the United States and raised his family in Waltham and Green Harbor in Marshfield. His passion for life permeated everything he undertook: the constant love and care for his family; a career in manufacturing; his service to our Country. Mike loved walking for miles each day on his beloved Green Harbor beach with his golden retrievers by his side; he was always quick to offer a kind word and gentle smile to everyone he encountered. An avid sports fan, he played hurling in Ireland and was a fan of thoroughbred horse racing.
But, what is most essential about Mike is that he learned over the course of life's journey—accompanied by so many wonderful people along the way—how to love deeply, live life most fully and become more authentically human—always choosing life—really choosing it with a resounding YES—and embracing the joy and pain that it brought to forge a stronger spirit and inspire those who were part of his life. The journey continues.
