Eccleston, Michael P., of Marshfield, passed away on March 29, 2017 after a brief illness.  Michael is the beloved husband of Kathleen Eacrett; dear father of Jason Eccleston and his wife Georgianna of Duxbury and grandfather of Luke. Michael is the devoted son of Philippa Eccleston of Marshfield and the late Richard Eccleston. He leaves his siblings Marina Dubois and her husband Andrew of Marshfield, Catherine Eccleston of Florida, Caroline Eccleston of Marshfield, Cynthia Eccleston of Maine, Jennifer McClendon and her husband William of Marshfield, Richard Eccleston and his wife Joy Connell of Shirley, Patrick Eccleston of Marshfield, and Christopher Eccleston of Sandwich, and many nieces and nephews. Michael is also survived by his former wife, Victoria, with whom he continued to share a warm and caring friendship.

Michael was a lifelong reader, an avid gardener, and history buff. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and often traveled to Ireland to visit family members and explore his roots. He enjoyed camping, relaxing at the beach, and working on his vintage home and growing vegetables. But his favorite activities were walking in the conservation area and playing with his grandson.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) Marshfield.
