Obituary

Michael C. Macedo of Marshfield passed away on September 14, 2024 at the age of 68. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Bates) Macedo; loving father of Ashley Hearn (Richard) of Scituate, Charles Macedo (Sheena) of Waltham, and Matthew Macedo (Jacki) of Marshfield, and faithful canine companion "Sunny Girl"; cherished grandfather of Gavin, Colin and Kiera MacVarish and RJ and Lucy Hearn; dear brother of Barbara Schubert of Pembroke, Lisa Raymond of Virginia, and the late Judy Costa.

Michael (Papa, Uncle Mike, Mikey, Goofball) lived his life to the fullest. While starting out his childhood in Bridgewater, he made his way down to the South Shore where he would eventually spend the remainder of his life in Marshfield. This is where Michael and his wife Karen would build a solid foundation for their three children.

Michael worked for Scituate Concrete Products before he would eventually retire from Pembroke Concrete Products. Mike was always "the guy". The toughest of jobs, Mike would get it done. Whether he was at work or at home Mike was the light of every room. He could talk to anybody. This is why he became "a legend" in his town. We all knew "you weren't from around here" if you didn't know Mike Macedo. Mike was extremely proud of his Portuguese heritage. He could be found with Karen attending the festivals.

Michael's greatest accomplishment were his three children, Ashley, Charlie, and Matthew. He dedicated his life to his family. He was at every sporting event and was always there for the late-night pickups. This continued later in life when he became a Papa. Aside from his children, his grandchildren, and baby girl (aka Sunny) were his pride and joy.

Upon retirement he spent the remainder of his life with his grandchildren, Sunny, and mother-in-law Maureen. Attending sporting events, babysitting, taking Sunny on walks, bringing Karen lunch and taking Maureen to her appointments, he was always there. It is without surprise that Michael became the Pied Piper of Harlow Road. The neighborhood children became his family. Michael will always be remembered for his kindness, laughter, and enormous sense of humor.
