Michael *Mick* O'Shaughnessy, of Marshfield, passed away on February 14, 2025 at the age of 76. Born in Cork, Ireland on March 17th, 1948 to the late Michael and Maureen, he would retain a deep and abiding love of his homeland. Immensely proud to have become a US citizen he would come to call first Milton, and then Marshfield home.

To know Mick was to know he was a lifelong fan of Manchester United, and during many regular trips to Ireland through the years he would often venture even further afield to see them play in person. When home he loved nothing more than hosting family and friends from near and far during endless summer backyard get-togethers and barbeques. Everyone was greeted as if an old friend, and though an ocean separated many, the bonds of family and friendships endured.

The first to lend a helping hand when he sensed it was needed, he was equally the first to share a laugh or to start a conversation. His welcoming nature and outgoing personality gave everyone the sense he cared for them. Many also cared greatly for him, and he will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 46 years, Geraldine, and his sons, Gareth and Colin.  A celebration of life for family and friends will be held in April in Marshfield, with a commemoration to follow later in the year in Cork.
