Obituary

Keeler, Mildred Frances (Gilcher) On July 23 2014, slipped gently from the tethers of earth and old age of 94 and into the hands of God after a lovely long life. Millie grew up in Dorchester for most of her young life with a move to Norwood then back to Dorchester where she graduated from the Jeremiah Burke H.S. in Dorchester, MA. While still in High School and at one of her favorite pass times, roller skating, she met her future husband and the love of her life, Daniel F Keeler (deceased 1995). They were young, life took them in different directions for a few years and while working for a furniture store as a secretary and designer she then encountered Daniel again and they married shortly afterwards. They were married for 52 yrs. Mil and Dan moved to Randolph in 1955 to raise their 2 sons. Millie worked many years for Jordan Marsh in Boston. Mildred was a homemaker enjoying many interests and hobbies such as sewing, flower arranging, decorating, card and board games, and playing the organ. Summertime in Randolph you would find Millie in her pool or at their summer house in Marshfield from 1962-1980 before she and Dan moved permanently to Marshfield in 1995 when Dan retired from the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Once in Marshfield permanently, she loved their travels to winter in FL. Mildred is survived by her son Dennis and Laurie Keeler of Marshfield, and Brian and Mary Keeler of Raynham. She has 6 grandchildren, Dennis (Lori) Keeler, Holly (Mark) Bossey of Marshfield, Haley (Jake) Sprague of Hanover, and the late Adam Paul Keeler (2004) of Marshfield. Allison Hochschild and Daniel Keeler of Raynham. Mildred also has 8 great grandchildren. Mildred's sister, Dorothy (Gilcher) Majenski of Dorchester who recently turned 100. Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Saturday, July 26 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal St. in Marshfield at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery Marshfield. Contributions in Mildred's memory may be made to the Adam P. Keeler Scholarship Fund c/o Holly Bossey 18 Aunt Lizzies Ln., Marshfield, MA 02050. A kind thank you to all involved staff and personnel at the assisted living of "The Inn at Silver Lake" in Kingston for kindly and sweetly taking care of Millie's needs at the end of her days. She will be sadly missed by us all especially for her funny, quirky and outspoken Millie-isms which she was well known for in our clan.
