Sullivan, Myrna (Barry) 78, a long- time resident of Marshfield, MA, died Thursday February 12, 2015 at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL.
Beloved wife of George Sullivan. Mother of George Sullivan and his wife Tammy of Topsfield, Kathie Turchetta and her husband Jay of Harvard, Deborah Sullivan OMalley of Marshfield, Michael Sullivan and his wife Kate of Duxbury and Brian Sullivan and his fiancée Jennifer Lomelino of Pembroke. Loving grandmother of Jordan and Geoffrey Sullivan, Jonathan, Lukas, Jake and Sophia Turchetta, Kaitlin, Matthew and Kiley Sullivan and Liam Sullivan. Sister of Thomas Barry and his wife Ann of Marshfield. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Myrna also considered Jim Meagher and his wife Heather, their two children Brendan and Kiera as an extension of her family.
Born in 1937 in Dorchester, Myrna graduated from Archbishop Cushing High School and St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in 1954. She was raised in South Boston where she met and married George Sullivan in 1959. She moved to Marshfield where she settled and raised 5 children. She initially worked as a registered nurse at several Boston hospitals and then as a Director of Nurses and Administrator of several South Shore nursing facilities for almost 60 years. She and her husband, George retired to Bonita Springs, FL in 2006. Myrna loved her church, her family and her friends. Her strength, grace and compassion will forever be remembered.
Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 Marshfield on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 4 to8 p.m.
Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, February 24, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St Christine's Church 1295 Main St Marshfield at 11:00 am.
Interment will be held at a later date.
