McCarthy
March 30, 2026
Our Lady of Assumption Church
10:00 - 11:00 am (Eastern time)
With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nancy McCarthy, (née Fahey) who passed away at the age of 86, on March 30, 2026.
Our mother grew up in Dorchester in a two-family home surrounded with love by her brothers, parents, and grandparents. Our grandparents’ home was the heart of our family and brought us all so much joy and lasting memories.
Our parents loved the ocean; they met one summer in Manomet and later moved to Marshfield when it was still a sleepy beach town. Our mother’s faith was an important part of her life, she took us to church most Sundays, but in the summer, she told us God was at the beach, and off we went! She loved to dance and considered herself quite good dancer! Her love of music filled our home growing up and has created lasting memories for us and even our friends! Our birthday parties were always a dance party!
Above all, she loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she took immense pride in each of them. Her love was constant, unconditional, and will remain with us always.
Our mother was predeceased by her parents, William and Elsie Fahey; her brother, William Fahey Jr.; and her sisters-in-law, Janice Fahey and Marie Fahey. She leaves behind her loving husband, William McCarthy; her brother, Robert Fahey; and her devoted daughters, Dona Fraenkel, Jodi Fraenkel, and Karen Kemp. She will be deeply missed by her sons-in-law, Jeff Kurash and Mark Kemp; her cherished grandchildren, Michael Bowen and Nicole Russell; and by Nicole’s husband, Owen, along with their children, Vivienne and Thomas, who brought her so much joy.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
