Nancy Ann (Good) Yelverton passed away at home in Marshfield on August 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born and raised in Lynn, Massachusetts and was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Good. She was the sister to Barbara Good and Robert Good, Jr.; proud mother to Amy (Yelverton) Sullivan and Thomas Yelverton; and former spouse to the late John Yelverton. She was exceptionally proud of her grandchildren, Katelynn Sullivan and Summer, Bear, and Magnus Yelverton.

Nancy graduated from Salem State College with a degree in education in 1969. She was married in 1970 and taught elementary school in Lynn. She and her husband moved to Marshfield in 1978 and built a house where Nancy stayed home raising her family and later worked in the local preschools and in the Marshfield Public Schools. She worked in the financial industry later in life.

She loved being at the beach. Her biggest source of pride was her children and grandchildren. She loved having all her grandchildren over and playing with them in the yard. She took great pleasure in having ice cream and sleepovers with the kids. She enjoyed reading and attending church. She also enjoyed traveling, and most recently had traveled to Disney, Arizona, and Hawaii.

Nancy had a lengthy battle with breast cancer but never complained or felt sorry for herself. She also was a kind gentle person with a smile and encouragement for everyone.

She was my best friend and biggest cheerleader to her daughter and granddaughter. She was always concerned about others and always wanted to make sure everyone was okay and taken care of. We will miss her greatly. She leaves behind a huge void in everyone's lives.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. and will conclude with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
