Obituary

Nicholas Drosopoulos Sr., born on March 12, 1944, in Thessaloniki, Greece, to John and Kalliroy Drosopoulos, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and community. In 1956, Nicholas immigrated to the United States, where he would go on to build a life defined by hard work, devotion, and connection to others.

He was the beloved brother of the late George Drosopoulos of Brockton and Peter Drosos of Brockton.

Nicholas is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Drosopoulos of Marshfield, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. He was a proud and adoring father to Christina Allen and her husband Gary of Bradenton, Florida; Nicholas Drosopoulos Jr. and his wife Shannan of Marshfield; Stephen Drosopoulos and his wife Lauren of Marshfield; and David Drosopoulos and his wife Kelly of Marshfield.

He was the ever-present “Poulie” to his five cherished grandchildren—Cassidy, Riley, Nicholas III, Johnathan, and Brandon—all of Marshfield—who brought him endless pride and joy.

As the unwavering patriarch of the Drosopoulos family, Nicholas led with strength, generosity, and deep love. In 1975, he founded Venus II in Brant Rock, Marshfield, a place that became far more than a business—it was a gathering spot, a home away from home, and a cornerstone of the community. For many, visits to Venus II became cherished family traditions, woven into the fabric of their lives over generations. The legacy Nicholas began continued to grow through his children, who carried forward his vision with the opening of Venus III in Hanson, Massachusetts, and continue that tradition today through addition of the Brant Rock Hop, further extending the family’s presence and impact in the community.

Affectionately known as “Mr. Nick,” he was truly a legend in his own time. Whether you found him rolling dough, making pizzas, playing cards, or sharing stories with customers, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome. You may also have seen Mr. Nick at the corner booth at the Brant Rock Hop, enjoying his coffee and the company of friends, a simple routine that reflected his love of community and connection. His warmth, humor, and steady presence made him a trusted friend to many.

Nicholas will be remembered not only for what he built, but for the countless lives he touched along the way. His legacy lives on in his family, his community, and in all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visting hours will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Annunciation Church, 457 Oak Street in Brockton, followed by burial in the Melrose Cemetery of Brockton.
