He loved music and loved to sing. He studied singing and has a beautiful baritone voice that he used onstage and around the family piano. He was an excellent conversationalist, and found people to talk to meaningfully and charmingly everywhere he went. Even in has last weeks he was singing and making close new friends in Duxbury at Bay Path.
One of his great passions was Antiques. He loved going exploring with Virginia and family members to find antiques and meet new people. The family enjoyed selling antiques together for many decades at Antiques shows and Flea Markets throughout New England. He made many friends along the way and is still admired and appreciated by the many people he enjoyed meeting in his travels.
He loved antique cars and could name every car in the Hemmings catalog or an old Turner Classic movie. He was also an expert driver and a valued employee at Lynn Sand And Stone for over 20 years. Many grateful customers took the time to personally express their thanks and appreciation for his excellent skills and workmanship on their homes and projects. After retiring he moved to Marshfield with Virginia where he pursued many passions from home including being an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
He was also a talented and whimsical woodcarver. He carved many exceptional treasured pieces of art from driftwood and other old woods for family and friends.
As a Veteran he was very proud to serve in the Merchant Marines during WWll in The European Theater.
All who know him and love him have so many stories of his acts of kindness, caring brave feats and excellence. A true original, He was often making something in a way no one else ever thought of. His warm smile, loving kind heart quick wit and laugh made him much loved. His presence is missed by everyone in our family and all who knew him.
