Owen Russell Ridder passed away tragically and suddenly on the morning of Sunday February 16th due to complications from his medical history.
Owen will always be a miracle. From the very start Owen overcame significant odds by beating his Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia after116 days at Boston Children's Hospital.
Despite early hardships, Owen was the happiest, sweetest, most loving little boy.
Owen was the brightest light in every room he entered: His smile and spirit captivated caregivers and onlookers. He lived life to the fullest, making the most of every moment, whether it was reading his favorite books until he memorized them, chasing his dog Penny, dancing in his living room, playing with animal figurines, or joining his parents on an adventure.
He shared his family's love for the beach, and was a frequent visitor at South Shore libraries, farms, and playgrounds, often with a book in hand.
Owen had the sweetest laugh, and the most luscious blonde hair. He captured the hearts of anyone that crossed his path and left a lasting impression.
Owen is survived by his mom and dad, Kristen and Landon; his brother Luke; his grandparents Nancy (Gigi) and Russ (Papa) Young and Kathryn (Kiki) and Mark (Opa) Ridder; his great grandparents Nancy and Dick Ridder; his aunts and uncles Sydney Ridder, Joe and Annika Young, Rob and Jen Young; his best friend/cousin Natalie and cousin Ryan Young; and his godparents, Sarah and Brendan Teebagy.
Owen will always live on in our hearts and minds. We will forever cherish every moment and happy memory we had with him.
Our sweet precious boy was taken from us too soon. Now we'll do our best to Live Like Owen: love our time together, appreciate the little things and find happiness wherever we are.
We love you forever and always Owey.
Love, Mumma and Dada
