Pamela Jane Scott (Coussons) passed away on August 9, 2020, after a long battle with breast cancer at the age of 57. She is survived by her son, Adam, and daughter-in-law Sarah (Weston); stepdaughter Kait Scott; her identical twin, Sue Coussons; and sisters Barbara Coussons-Lennon and Laura McGillicuddy. She also leaves behind her beloved "Aunty" Arline Youngman; brother-in-law Andrew McGillicuddy; nieces Sarah and Christina McGillicuddy; nephews James Lennon, Danny and Peter McGillicuddy; and her 182-lb Great Dane, Zorro. Her husband of nearly three decades, Thomas A. Scott, preceded her in death in April of this year.
Born on October 15, 1962, to British expatriates Rosalind (Dregent) and Keith Coussons, "Pammy" grew up on the South Shore of Massachusetts. After graduating from Hanover High School in 1980, she attended hairdressing school, only to discover she was allergic to chemicals commonly found in hair products at the time. She then began her lifelong vocation as a baker, working in many coffee and sandwich shops in the area over the years. In her first entrepreneurial venture, she co-owned a cake decorating business with a friend, creating stunning 3D cakes.
Second only to her son, Pam's true love was for animals. Her pets included her childhood horse, Fortress, and many dogs, cats, and birds. After a chance encounter at an animal shelter, she fell in love with the Great Dane breed of dogs, raising five of them over the last twenty years. Her dedication to the health and happiness of companion animals led her to pursue a career as a pet groomer. She eventually opened her second business, a mobile grooming RV christened "Pam's Groomin' Mobile," before her cancer diagnosis forced her to close in 2010.
Pam enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, crime television shows, and spending time with family and her beloved pets. She will be remembered for her kind, gentle spirit and her contagious laugh.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dr. Susan Love Foundation at https://www.classy.org/give/153195/#!/donation/checkout and The Ellie Fund, who generously supported Pam during the last six months, at https://www.elliefund.org/
