Patrick Kimmett, 71, passed away on July 15, 2024 unexpectedly. He was born on June 21, 1953, in Quincy to Patrick T. Kimmett and Frances L. Roberts. He graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in 1971 and went on to work as a heavy equipment operator for the Flatley Company where he met late wife Denise Kimmett (Desmond), whom he loved dearly.
Patrick's passion was being a dedicated member of Benevolent Protective Order of Elks and participating in many community events, ranging from being a chairman at the lodge and state level for the Soccer Shoot & Hoop Shoot. He held title such as Honorary Life Member, Life Member, Exalted Rule, and District Deputy. He was involved in many other community projects such as: Veterans Dinners, D.A.R.E programs and dictionary distribution at local schools.
In 1985, Patrick met his late wife Denise, and they were together for 35 years and married 29 years. Together, they had 5 children, Crystal Bonanno and husband Dan, James Kimmett, Kyle Kimmett and wife Stacey, Charlie Kimmett and Alisha Kimmett. He also left behind three grandchildren James Thomas Kimmett, Lillia Kimmett, and Patrick D. Kimmett. He was a devoted spouse, parent, and papa always putting his family first and cherishing every moment spent with them.
He was known for his larger-than-life personality and boisterous voice, befriending everyone he met. Many people have shared their love for him and that fact that he treated them like family and supported them no matter what. He was willing to help in any way, such as offering a hot meal, a place to sleep, a ride, or advice. He was always there to protect and defend his family and loved ones in any situation.
He was proud of Scottish heritage and elated that he could visit and connect with his family overseas last year. He will be deeply missed by his friends, community, and especially his family.
A wake will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield.
