Patrick Ryan McDonough, of Duxbury, 34, passed away on April 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Patrick is the beloved son of Charles F. and Ann-Marie E. (Kelly) McDonough and stepson of Deborah McDonough. Patrick leaves his sister, Colleen Hirst and brother in-law Patrick Hirst of Boston, and his grandmother Mary R. McDonough. He is predeceased by his grandparents Mary E. Kelly, William A. Kelly, and Charles F. McDonough, Sr.
Patrick had a deep love of music and people which was evident in his career choices. He entered the entertainment industry as a professional DJ at Boston clubs and at functions. His weekly radio show "Where You Been?" showcasing his love for 90s alternative music became something of a local cult following.
His desire to help others led to his enrollment in the radiation therapy program at Laboure College. His goal was not only to help others during their time of need, but to also use music therapy as well. Unfortunately he became very ill before he could finish the program.
Patrick had a unique gift in making every single person he encountered, no matter how brief the moment, feel special just for being who they were. Ever since he was a little boy he liked to make people laugh and feel happy, even at his own expense, and that never changed through his last moments.
As anyone who ever had the pleasure to know him would agree, the world has lost someone very, very special.
