Patrick "Pat" McPartlin, a lifelong resident of Marshfield and owner of a local pet and house-sitting business, passed away on April 18 at South Shore Hospital following a seizure. He was 32.
Described by all who knew and loved him as a kind, gentle, and caring person, Pat loved animals, gaming with his friends, snowboarding, and spending time with his family.
Prior to launching his business, he worked at Verizon Connect as a senior customer service representative and had also worked at Vandal Games in Montreal as a Producer intern.
A 2011 graduate of Marshfield High School, he graduated from Champlain College in Burlington, VT, with a degree in Management of Creative Media, specializing in game production. While at Champlain he led a team of programmers and artists who developed a video game called The Whale and A Lighthouse.
Family recalled Pat's quiet wit and disarming sense of humor and his ability to find the good in all people. He was happiest spending time with his cousins Conor and Brendan Queenan of Cohasset, former classmates and coworkers, and walking the dogs he so lovingly cared for each day. He will be forever loved and missed.
Pat is survived by his devoted mother, Susan, and beloved brother, Michael, both of Marshfield, his adoring grandmother, Phyllis Dunn of Weymouth, and many heartbroken aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father James "Jim" McPartlin.
The services will be private. A celebration of life will take place later in the year.
Requiescat in pace .
