Obituary

Paul Caruso of Marshfield passed away on December 11, 2020, after a long illness, at the age of 59. Beloved husband of Mary E. "Marybeth" (Curran) Caruso; loving father of Vincent Caruso and his wife Marissa, Jess Caruso, and Maurice Caruso, all of Marshfield; cherished "Nonno" of Remi and Pauli Caruso. Son of the late Vincenzo and Vincenza (Fondacaro) Caruso, he was brother of John Caruso and his wife Bonnie of North Carolina and uncle of Vincenzo Caruso of Maryland, Andrea "Andi" Caruso of North Carolina, and Gracie Leary of Florida. Paul also leaves many extended family members in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Italy; Zia Maria, whose husband Zio Guseppe passed away in March of 2019, Zio Frank, Zia Tina, Zio Carmelo, Zia Cata, Zio Simone, and Zia Nina. He also leaves his mother and father in-law, Maurice and Mary Curran of Marshfield, sister in-law Moe Leary and her husband Hollis of Florida, and brother in-law Maurice Curran and his wife Diane of Wakefield.

Paul was born in Brooklyn where he worked in the medical field, then moved to Florida with his brother where they opened Caruso's Italian Restaurant in West Palm Beach, a dream for his dad. Paul also worked for Tandy/Radio Shack, Circuit City service center, and IRobot, where could fix things many times on the fly while waiting for a part to come in. To his family, he had the nickname "Macgyver" because he could fix anything, His hobbies were fixing cars and television sets, but during the good weather you could find Paul on the back deck watching his favorite crime dramas or the food channel, or just chilling by the fire pit with friends listening to music. Paul will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his beloved dogs Rosie and "the girls" Fergie, Layla, and Harley - they are lost without him.
