Paul J. Freiberger of Green Harbor, Marshfield, (formerly of Westwood) at the age of 78, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Thursday, April 28, 2022. He will be missed wholeheartedly by his beloved wife of 56 years, Bernadette M. Freiberger (Amato) and their 2 daughters, Sharon M. Drewicz and her husband John P. Drewicz of Reading, and Paula A. Bleidorn and her husband Robert M. Bleidorn Jr of Pembroke. Son of the late Lyle and Margaret (Rock) Freiberger, Paul was the dear brother of Lyle Freiberger and wife Patricia of Mashpee and Annmarie Ham and husband Robert of Dedham. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paul earned his proudest title of "Papa" from his 2 grandsons, Robert M. Bleidorn III and Benjamin P. Bleidorn. This title quickly became the name he was known as by all that loved him.

The story of Paul's life with his wife and family is one full of happiness, travel, boats, airplanes, quads, ukuleles, horses, gardening (tomatoes everywhere), ski trips, camping and anything else that involved time spent with family and friends. Watching his grandsons play sports, taking them to his boat, building football launchers, or cooking chicken cutlets and macaroni and cheese are a few of the many things he enjoyed. If it was broken, it could be fixed, if it was a vision, it could be built. Always working with his hands, Paul retired from his job of 30 years as a bus mechanic from the MBTA. Paul was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as the Green Harbor Yacht Club.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
