Paul T. "Minnie" Marcella passed away on July 31, 2022 at the age 75, in his home after a long courageous battle with cancer, he is finally at peace.
Paul is survived and was cared for by his beloved wife of 50 years Jean (Snow), sons James Marcella and his wife Bridgette (Callahan) and John Marcella along with his treasured grandchildren Sophia Marcella and Chase Marcella. He was predeceased by his four brothers Philip "Skip", his twin brother Ronald "Ronnie", Richard "Ricky" & Robert "Captain Bob" Marcella.
Paul was born to the late Felix & Ann Marcella on January 23, 1947 in Somerville, Massachusetts and was raised in Hull, Massachusetts. He graduated from Hull High School in 1965. As a teenager, he worked as a lifeguard at Nantasket Beach, and in a brief time became popularly known as the "singing lifeguard".
He went on to join the Air Force while serving in Vietnam with RED HORSE Squadron. After his service he went on to a career as a Civil Engineer and worked on some of the largest state construction projects in Boston such as Deer Island and The Convention Center.
Paul was an exceptional baseball player, little league coach and avid Red Sox fan. We feel he missed his true calling as a Pro Baseball Scout. He had an innate and profound knowledge of statistics and a love for the game. Paul loved spending time at Burkes Beach in Marshfield, Massachusetts.
He will be remembered for having such a warm heart and helpful manner; he never turned down a job to help family, friends, or neighbors. He adored and was loved by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
P.S. The roads will be safer in Marshfield to drive now that Paul has passed on, as he was without a doubt the worst driver.
