Peter C. Jordan, 72, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a sudden illness.
Born to the late Walter S. and Barbara (Bremner) Jordan of Norwell, Pete spent his formative years living on the family farm where hard work was a privilege, and sometimes, a punishment. As soon as his legs were long enough to reach the pedals, he spent his days driving tractors. He spoke fondly of his teenage escapades on "roller coaster road" with his high school friends. He honed his skills as a mechanic building a custom truck and later took great pride in his Hemi Cuda. Pete graduated from Norwell High School with the Class of 1970.
After high school, Pete leased and operated the Hanson Sunoco until the 1974 Oil Embargo. He relocated to Goldston, NC, where he worked for Ford Motor Co., volunteered as an EMT, and started a family. Eventually, he returned north and settled in Marshfield, where he was employed by the Campanelli-Tedeschi Realty Trust at Hanover Mall. Later, Pete moved to Old Orchard Beach, Maine, where he earned a degree in computer science from York County Technical College. There, he met and fell in love with his second wife, Barbara, discovering a shared passion for 35mm photography.
An avid outdoorsman, Pete found joy on both land and water—whether on a boat or a motorcycle. He loved camping and spent many summers at Ellis Haven in Plymouth. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling, gardening, and tackling hands-on projects of all kinds. Pete spent the last few years rebuilding a boat with his son, Adam, a project that brought them both great pride and many cherished memories.
Following in his father's footsteps, he was a dedicated Freemason for 32 years. Pete was initially raised at Elm-Belcher Lodge in Agawam in 1993 and later joined Orchard Lodge #215 when he moved to Maine. Above all, he was a proud father and grandfather, never missing an opportunity to brag about his children and grandchildren, whom he loved spending time with. A passionate supporter of President Trump, Pete also dedicated many hours volunteering for his campaigns.
Pete is survived by his children: Rob Jordan and his wife Colleen of Marshfield, Adam Jordan and his wife Jen of Hingham, and Laura (Jordan) Zall and her husband Greg of Braintree. He was a proud and loving Grandad to Robbie, Justin, and Jackson Jordan of Marshfield; William and Alex Jordan of Hingham; and Bridget and Elizabeth Zall of Braintree.
He is also survived by his siblings: Allen Jordan and his wife Linda of Baldwin, ME; Nancy Kirkpatrick and her husband Earl of Port Charlotte, FL; brother-in-law Ralph Domato of Port Charlotte, FL; and sister-in-law Sandy Jordan of Elizabeth City, NC. Pete is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as wonderful friends and neighbors. He also leaves behind his longtime friends, Kevin Brady and Irene Tilden, whose friendship brought him great joy throughout the years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; his parents, Walter S. Jordan Jr. and Barbara (Bremner) Jordan; his sister, Susan Domato; his brother, Paul Jordan; and his cherished cat, Harlow.
