Phyllis N. Earls Nielsen of Marshfield passed away on July 7, 2022 after a brief illness surrounded by her family at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Richard "Rick the Brick Nielsen", she was the loving mother of Jimmy Nielsen of Marshfield, Stephen Nielsen of Braintree, Phyllis Shea and husband Michael of Marshfield, Rick Nielsen and wife Andrea of California, the late Michael Nielsen, and daughters in-law Lynda Nielsen and Andrea Anderson. She was the cherished grandmother of Alexa Simons (Evan), Jaime Lynne Nielsen, Amanda and Adam Shea, Michael Nielsen Jr. (Aubrey), Erika Nielsen and great grandchildren Rory, Ezra, and the late Trevor Nielsen. Phyllis is also survived by her sister in-law, many nieces, nephews, and retired Navy Veteran Fred Nielsen. She was the daughter of the late James and Grace Moynihan Earls. Phyllis was predeceased by siblings James and Gracie Earls.
Born in Boston and raised in North Quincy, Phyllis was a 1953 graduate of North Quincy high school. She and Rick married and settled in Marshfield where they raised their family and where Phyllis worked as a supervisor at the Marshfield post office until her retirement in 1996. Phyllis always enjoyed traveling especially cruising with friends and trips to her home in Florida with her family. She was an avid bowler her entire life and in later years she loved to golf with Mickey and the Gang. She was a longtime board member of the Daniel Webster Estate and founder of the Family Fun Day which she ran for 10 years, especially working with vendors for donations. She was a force to be reckoned with and never took no for an answer. She also enjoyed quiet time with family, playing cards with Mary and visits with the grandkids and her favorite four-legged friends. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
