Priscilla F. Neilsen (Burrell) of Marshfield, passed away peacefully in her own home of natural causes on April 7th, 2024 just 2 months shy of 108 years old. Priscilla was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Burrell of Randolph and was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Virginia Burrell and Cynthia Healey and her brother Kenneth Burrell. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Jamieson, her two grandchildren, Richard P. Jamieson with wife Jennifer and Wendy O'Malley with husband Charles. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, Ally with husband David, Brenna, Andrew with wife Melissa, Emily, Casey, Zachary, Megan, and Timothy.
Priscilla was born in her home at 42 Woodlawn St. in Randolph on June 15th, 1916 where she lived until she moved to Marshfield in 1995. Priscilla also owned a cottage in Eastham, Cape Cod, where she summered for 30 years. She loved the ocean and all that came along with it. She would spend countless hours sunbathing, swimming, helping us look for clam holes to dig, and rolling in the tidal pools with her sister Cynthia when the tide was out.
Priscilla worked as hard as she played though. Working in Boston as a supervisor at Boston Insurance and later at car insurance, she didn't retire until age 68. Priscilla also had many hobbies. She loved to knit beautiful sweaters, hats, mittens, and blankets for all those she loved. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and had the patience and determination to finish even the 2000 piece ones. She loved seek-n-find word books to keep her mind sharp. She also enjoyed more physical activities such as keeping her yard looking nice by clearing brush (even though she ended up with poison ivy almost every year) and planting flowers. She was a very independent woman and had no problems with getting that ladder out to paint, change lightbulbs, or whatever was needed.
Priscilla was an exceptional mother and grandmother. She was always there to help out with her grandchildren. She came to live with Anne for a short time after the babies were born to help with nightly feedings and as they got older, would come for weekends to babysit so that Anne and Rick could take those weekends away twice a year. Family was extremely important to Priscilla and it showed in the love she had for her whole family. This remarkable woman will be missed by all who knew her.
