Ralph E. Damon, a long-time resident of Scituate, passed away peacefully, at home with his loving family, on December 3, 2021 at the age of 87. Ralph was the beloved husband for 60 years of the late Faith M. (Eustis) Damon and dear father of Christopher Damon of Ohio, Kent Damon of Scituate, Scott Damon of Plymouth, and Keith Damon and his wife Bridgett Doran Damon of Scituate. He was the cherished grandfather of Ashley Damon, Barbara Damon, Jessica Damon, Anthony Doran Damon, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Born in Rockland, one of 13 children of the late George H. and Evelyn L. (Crocker) Damon, Ralph's family moved to Stockbridge Road in Scituate early in his childhood. The large family struggled in many ways and Ralph was forever grateful to the Cape Verdean community of Scituate, whose care and support for him as a young man allowed him to realize a better future for himself and eventually his own family.

Ralph and Faith married in 1956 and lived on Clapp Road for ten years before settling in to a summer cottage on Spaulding Ave., which Ralph himself converted to a year-round residence. Ralph was no stranger to hard work and was known to hold several jobs at once to provide for his growing family. A union carpenter by trade, he worked at the local bowling alley, drove a cab and an oil delivery truck, all the while holding his full time job as an excavator and equipment operator for P.F. Spencer Corp. Upon retirement he joined his sons and started their own landscaping company, Damon's Mowing.

Ralph was a fan of Patriots football and Bruins hockey and loved working in his gardens. He was an avid reader and coin collector and in younger days enjoyed fishing and digging for old bottles. He also loved going to the races at Seekonk, RI and riding old Indian motorcycles with his brother, Cliff.

Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
