Richard J. Cahill, 74 passed away on March 12, 2025 at Mission Care @ Holyoke, a specialized long term care center where he was residing.

Born in Boston on January 11, 1951, Richard was the son of the late Richard G. Cahill and Eileen J. (McLaughlin) Cahill. He grew up in Hyde Park, Ma. and Marshfield, Ma. and graduated from Marshfield High School before heading to college at American International College (AIC) in Springfield, Ma.

Richard (Rick) was the oldest of six siblings, Mary Jane Cahill of Kingston, Gregory S. Cahill (Kathleen) of Plymouth, Robert T. Cahill (Christine) of Plymouth, Timothy G. Cahill of Plymouth, Kathleen M. Olding (Paul) of Little River, SC, and Eileen C. Supple (Thomas) of Kingston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

After journeying off to college with much promise, Rick tragically spent 55 years battling severe mental illness until his passing. Despite his suffering he consistently displayed to all his kindness, humor, and intellect. He was a blessed soul who will be missed dearly by his family. We love you brother. A private family service will be held to honor Rick's life on March 31. 2025. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetary, Bourne. In lieu of a public celebration of life, the family encourages a donation to anyone who is struggling, or to a cause that is dedicated to the treatment, awareness and assistance to those suffering from mental illness.
