Richard Healy of Marshfield passed away on July 24, 2019 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Eileen (Sydleman) Healy, Richard also leaves his stepson John M, Harte and his wife Angie of Connecticut, a sister, Diane Healy of New Bedford, and two nephews, Rick Healy and Steven Zunino. He was stepfather of the late Susan Parker but leaves her husband Philip and their son Jared.

Richard joined the U.S. Army out of High School. He saw combat as he served in the Infantry during the Korean Conflict. After discharge from the Army, Richard became a Merchant Marine, working as a Wiper in the Engine Room. He then worked on the Boston Tug Boats also in the Engine Room.

Richard spent most of his life on the sea, which he considered his home away from home. How he loved to fish! He had such joy and laughter when his wife Eileen caught a fish.

Richard will be remembered for the quality of his character and for his sense of humor. He was a generous and good man.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann by the Sea Parish Church, 591 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Burial will be in the Couch Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory can be made to the Cozy Corner Adult Day Heath center, 98 Nicks Rock Road, Plymouth MA 02360.
