Memorial Gathering
Marshfield Elks
1:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
Richard (Ricky) John Mandeville, Jr., 39, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly from Weymouth, Massachusetts, passed away on March 24, 2026. Ricky was the beloved son of Richard (Dick) Mandeville and the late Mary Mandeville; cherished brother to Rachael (Justin) Obermeier and Jennifer Mandeville; and proud uncle of Keaton, Hudson, Nolan, and Madden Obermeier. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
Ricky was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor, always ready with a perfectly timed remark that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing. He had a way of lightening any moment without ever needing to be the center of attention.
He was also a truly good friend—loyal, dependable, and someone people could count on. Ricky cared deeply about those around him, showing compassion in quiet, meaningful ways that never went unnoticed. He leaves behind lasting impressions in the hearts of everyone who knew him, remembered not only for his humor, but for his kindness and the genuine care he showed to others.
Ricky had a deep love for sports, both as a player and a fan. Over the years, he competed in baseball, hockey, lacrosse, cross country, and soccer, later finding his stride in darts as an adult. Through it all, his favorite coach—his dad—was never far from the sidelines.
A devoted Boston sports fan, Ricky cheered faithfully for the Bruins, Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics. But above all, his heart belonged to Liverpool; he rarely missed a match, often recording games so he could watch them after work.
More than anything, Ricky cherished time with his family. Whether socializing or playing games, it was in those moments that he felt most at ease and truly himself. It was also where his competitive spirit shone brightest, bringing energy, laughter, and a spark of excitement to every gathering.
Ricky’s sudden passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of those who loved him, but his spirit continues to inspire everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Ricky now joins his mom, his favorite “butt buddy” and Jeopardy partner.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the Marshfield Elks, 1321 Ocean Street, Marshfield, MA from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The family will be speaking at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and share a memory of our Ricky.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ricky’s memory can be made to the Weymouth Teen Center, 1393 Pleasant St., Weymouth, MA 02189.
