Richard Mack of Marshfield, MA passed away on February 1st, 2025, unexpectedly with family by his side at Beth Israel Hospital. Richard was born at Mare Island Naval Hospital in Vallejo, California to Archibald Mack and Natalie (Sinnott) Mack. Not long after living in California, the family moved to Marshfield and settled in and lived where his mother's side of the family lived.
Richard graduated from the class of 1964 at Marshfield High School. From there he went on to attend undergrad at Wentworth Institute and then Northeastern University where he attended grad school for Electrical Engineering. He took that education and applied those skills as he worked for Raytheon until he retired.
Richard was an avid sports lover and could always be counted on watching any current season of basketball, football, cycling and his favorite sport, baseball. He played baseball as a child in middle school and sang chorus in high school. As an adult, he played in a bowling league for years. He was regularly helped in the garden that his parents had. A fond memory that his nieces recall having of him.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Archibald and Natalie Mack, and a sister, Joan, who was born asleep. He is survived by his sister Janice Lumbra of Stafford, Virginia and her husband Lawrence. Two nieces, Chelsea Owens and her husband Gregg, of Fredericksburg, Virginia and older niece, Jeannine Dixon and her husband Darrell. Richard's role grew great when he became a great uncle to Devante Lumbra-Dixon, who married Darshell, great niece Jasmine Dixon and twin great nephews Simion and Shay Dixon. The family expanded and he was privileged to be a great great uncle to 8 more nieces and nephews, Analize, Leonardo, Tony, Natalee, Maia, Damion, Kai and Devante Jr. Richard often joked he needed a family tree to track everyone.
