Richard Anthony Nashawaty, age 76, passed away peacefully after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer on June 28, 2018, surrounded by his family in his Port Saint Lucie, Florida home. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judi (Bertoni) and his three loving children, his daughter Donna, also of Port Saint Lucie, his son Anthony and his wife Jeanine of Westport, CT, and his son Andrew and his wife Jennifer Schad of Humarock MA. Richard is also survived by his 6 loving grandsons, Nicholas, Christian, Matthew, Maxwell, Adrian, and Roman, many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and in-laws. He is predeceased by his brothers Thomas and Paul.

Originally from Boston, Richard and Judi retired from their business, Ray Precast in Marshfield, 30 years ago and moved to Port Saint Lucie. Richard was also a principle partner in Stor-It mini warehouse located in Pembroke. Prior to moving to Florida, Richard was a resident of Humarock and an active member of the Marshfield community. He was a member of the Marshfield Kiwanis Club (twice President), coach and board member of Marshfield Youth Football, and member of Connecting Rods Auto Club. Richard enjoyed golf, cooking, boating, and having his morning coffee with his friends at Dockside Donuts when he was visiting Humarock.

Despite being taken from us too soon, Richard was able to fulfill his wish to stay in his home due to the excellent care of his healthcare providers. So that others may also remain with their loved ones with the same level of dignity, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139), Marshfield. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main Street (Rte. 3A) in Marshfield.
