Pomella, Dr. Richard (Ricky) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. formerly of Marshfield died suddenly on Sunday July 24, 2011 at age 44. Loving son of Cristina (DeMoreta) and the late Thomas Pomella. Dear Brother to Tony Pomella and his wife Tracy, Tom Pomella and his wife Tammy and Cristina Messersmith and her husband Mike all of Marshfield. Beloved uncle of Alexis, Tommy, Mark, Nick, Julia, Timmy, and Joey Pomella, and Maria, Jason and Jacqueline Messersmith. Rick was born in South Weymouth, MA. He graduated Marshfield High School in the class of 1985. Later he earned a BA from U-Mass Boston and a doctorate from Life College in Marietta, GA. and ran a very successful chiropractor practice in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Rick was hard working and passionate about his practice. His infectious smile and energetic personality attracted many friends wherever he went. He adored his family, especially his ten nieces and nephews and his dog Butkus. . Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St Rte 139 Marshfield Friday August 5, at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St Christine's Church 1095 Main St Marshfield at 10:00 am. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. The Interment will be held at a later date.
