Richard "Dick" Rousseau, 79, died peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his home in Marshfield, Massachusetts with his wife Margaret and daughter Karen by his side.

Dick was born on February 23, 1939 in Lynn, Massachusetts (MA) to George and Geraldine Rousseau and lived in Swampscott MA.  He was brought up by his caring and doting paternal grandmother and grandfather Ada and Alfred Furbush from Lynn, MA.

Shortly after graduating from Swampscott High School in 1956 he joined the US Army Active Reserves and rose to the rank of Sergeant in the 304 ^th armour group out of the Boston Armoury.  He then went on to work for HP Hood & Sons in Lynn as a home milk delivery driver with routes in Annisquam and Salem MA.

Dick later worked at General Electric Company in Lynn MA as a machinist retiring in 2001 after 34 years of service.  Many of his colleagues remember his attention to detail and his infectious laugh that could be heard across the engine buildings he worked in.

He and his wife, Margaret met at General Electric years later, married in 1988, lived in Lynn and spent their summer weekends at their home in Marshfield.  They later retired to Marshfield where they built their current home in 2005.

Dick loved and was most proud of his three children from his first marriage to Kathleen O'Connor and their four grandchildren.  He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was kind, caring and generous with family and friends who loved his company, cooking, sharing many laughs and good times throughout the years.  He will truly be missed by all.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret Crowley-Rousseau for 30 years and loving father of Karen Taylor and her husband Cliff of Salisbury; Sharon Brown and her husband Jim of Marblehead and his daughter-in-law Jennifer (Burton) Rousseau of Skokie, Illinois.  He was also the loving grandfather to Henry, Nicholas, Ella and Will whom they called Pip.

He was preceded in death by his son Richard G. Rousseau Jr.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. immediately following visitation.
