Hapenney, Rita (Thorpe), of Marshfield, died March 2, in the Golden Living Center in Plymouth, at the age of 97. Wife of the late Walter Hapenney. Sister in law of John and Joyce Hapenney and Katherine Hapenney all of Marshfield. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Rita was born in Boston. She was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. Rita was the recipient of the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and The Presidential Testimonial. A Funeral Service will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, l755 Ocean St., Rte. l39, Marshfield on Tuesday, March 8, at l2 noon. Visiting will be from 11:30 to 12:00 prior to the service. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at l:30 p.m. with Navy Military Honors.
