On Thursday November 15, 2018, Robert Stetson Barlow, loving life companion, father of four, grandfather of six, and friend to many, passed away at the age of 87.  Bob was born in Brockton and graduated New Hampton Prep School in 1949.  He received a B.S in Biology from Northeastern University in 1953 and a M.Ed. in Education and Guidance from Bridgewater State College in 1961.  Bob held MANY jobs over the years, many of them he created himself.  From call Firefighter to Police patrolman (both in Marshfield), to High School Biology teacher (in Scituate), to commercial fisherman and co-founder of the Massachusetts Lobsterman's Association, to caterer extraordinaire of the famous Clambakes by Bob Barlow, to Constable, he really was a jack of all trades!  Bob loved to fly and founded the south shore flying club in 1965, a group of 40 pilots sharing 2 planes for 30 years!  Bob's three biggest passions were fishing, traveling and his family, and he was never happier than the times he could combine the three with fabulous family vacations that included multiple cruises and trips to Hawaii. Bob leaves his longtime companion Barbara Collins, children Robert S. Barlow, Jr. of Plymouth and Kelli Claire Barlow-Dean and her husband Brad of Somerset, and grandchildren Brandon, Alexandra, Andrea, Jake, Benjamin, and Abigail. He is predeceased by children Betsy Barlow-Cunningham and Allan Barlow.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. to the North Community Church, 72 Old Main Street, Marshfield for a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Couch Cemetery.
